Hello today I am going to speak about Fats .
How much total fat that you eat ?
You should know that There are tow types of fat
"healthy fats" and "unhealthy fats."
1- I am going to start with unhealthy fats
- You should eat less saturated fat or unhealthy fat ,
Because it's raises blood cholesterol levels.
High blood cholesterol is a risk factor for heart disease.
Some foods containing saturated fat :
- Chocolate
- Palm kernel oil and Palm oil
- Butter
- High-fat dairy products such as full-fat cheese,
ice cream, cream,
2% milk and sour cream, whole milk.
- Fatback and salt pork
- regular ground beef, sausage, bologna, hot dogs,
bacon and spareribs
One of the important diabetes nutrition guidelines is to eat less
than 7% of calories from saturated fat.
2- healthy fats or Monounsaturated Fat
Called "Monounsaturated Fat" because they can lower
your bad (LDL) cholesterol.
This is some Sources of monounsaturated fat
- Nuts like cashews, almonds, pecans, and peanuts
- Olive oil and olives
- Avocado
- Canola oil
- Sesame seeds
- Albacore tuna (Omega-3)
- Mackerel (Omega-3)
- Sardines (Omega-3)
- Salmon (Omega-3)
